Another Victory for Charice! Didn’t anyone notice?
Dear Mama Zhen,
Thanks for the post. Kind of depressing and disturbing, sort of and I really feel for Charice. Having to carry this burden and getting caught right in the middle of the adult's squabbles. But I'm sure things will work out. I believe there is a Filipino saying, "blood is thicker than water". And no matter what kind of quarrel is going on in the family, it is never wise to step in or take sides. I believe the best thing is pray for them, continue to be supportive of Charice, not to comment pro or con anyone in the family. Although it really isn't fair for this thing to affect Charice, it is a family thing and whether she likes it or not, inevitably, she'll have to deal with it. Her answers in “the buzz” interview were perfect and flawless. I am really amazed at how she took that stand and did not take sides between Mommy Raquel and her grandma.
I'm proud and happy for Charice and I pray that she shall continue to have the wisdom and the strength as she did that night when she had to clear these things in public for her family's and her career's sake. It's sad to see her at this very young and tender age being subjected to such strain and embarrassment, and not of her doing, but her elders’. But I guess this is part and parcel of the price she pays and the tests she has to pass and the pain she has to go through and bear to achieve the magnitude of success she already owns and posses at this early stage too. It is sort of a balance of nature and Charice is proving to the world once again, her worthiness of all this success, glory and accomplishments.
In a way, it is also good that we and the world outside of Charice's family, see first hand, with our own eyes the hardships and pain that our idol, our princess, the one we love so dearly, how she accepts these without complaint, takes in those beatings so graciously without any hint of hate, resentment or bitterness. She takes everything in so humbly and willingly as part of life and all we can see and hear coming out of Charice are her song, her tears, and her words of consolation, concern and encouragement for her elders. Nothing but feelings of love, affection and respect for them amidst this terrible quagmire of spite, intrigue, deception, lies and insults and misunderstandings.
Over and above this potentially destructive and unfortunate incident which some may very well consider a very embarrassing public display of dirty laundry, it has also been a perfect opportunity for Charice to show the world her impeccable morals and values. She has once again, in a very clear, true and simple way shown the world what love, honor and respect are for your elders. Here is a concrete example and the ideal model of what the youth should be and the kind of values they should have.
The strength of her character to boldly face these issues with maturity and wisdom, (definitely uncommon of today's youth and many young adults) makes Charice shine even brighter. Her compassion, matched by her intelligence, were as startling as her magnificent voice as she obliged the host's request to sing (flawlessly in acapela), that encouraging song of hope, which she and her mother share as their theme song when times were rough and things didn't look too good. "Maghintay Ka Lamang".
Mama Zhen, thank you for your diligence in seeking these valuable pieces of treasure. You have just given me something so valuable, a testament to the fact that Charice truly shines as the brightest among stars, even outside and apart from her singing and performing for the audience as an entertainer, but as a truly beautiful person.
Thank you Jessica for this post. You are right, Charice is a very forgiving person, the only person that I have witnessed (on video) thanking her detractors and turning a negative into a positive.
