Charice

This was originally posted on my Tumblr page however I was asked to repost it here:

“How can I describe Charice in words?” I’ve been thinking of what to write here about her since this morning. Yet after spending hours writing things down and deleting bits and parts, I found I could never sum up everything that she is. Whatever I wrote down, the words didn’t seem great enough to show just how wonderful a person and singer she is. It would be like trying to describe every little snowflake that fell from the sky - kind of impossible don’t you think? So I will only tell you of my own experience of Charice.

She’s only a few years younger than me, turning 18 this year in May, yet she has inspired me in so many ways that no one else ever could. Her life story shows perseverance, determination, hard work, dedication and love. I adored her the moment I first saw her on YouTube in that memorable episode of Star King where she sang “And I am Telling You”. I had never seen any singer with such powerful stage presence at such a young age. I immediately took a liking to her and searched up her other videos that were on YouTube.

I’ve now been a fan of hers for almost 2 years now. Though, it wasn’t until this past December when I finally visited her fansite at Charicemania.com, that I became a full-time Chaster. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve watched her videos for hours and hours on repeat before I visited that site, but what makes it great to be a fan of Charice is interacting with the other Chasters. They are all such kind people, all very passionate about Charice. She brings out the best in people and a great example of that was the Fruitcake Charity campaign where Chasters rallied together to make sure Operation Smile succeeded in meeting its goal. Charice had been named the International Youth Ambassador for Operation Smile in the beginning of December 2009, and in only a few weeks, Operation Smile was able to raise enough money to meet the $5000 goal that was set, and win the overall grand prize of $20,000. In the end over $35,000 was raised for Operation Smile, giving the gift of a smile to so many children born with cleft palates/lips or face deformities. Much of the donations and points came from the Chasters and those who had helped spread word of the campaign all over Twitter and other social networking sites.

That experience alone awakened emotions and spirit inside of me that had been dormant for so long. I am grateful to be a Chaster, because of the good Charice brings out in me and everyone else. To those who are not yet fans, or who are against her, I say open your minds a little more. You might then see what you are missing. You don’t need to be a Chaster to recognize this girl has undeniable talent.

To Charice, I say thank you :) For being who you are, for following your dreams and for making life more enjoyable for us Chasters. I will support you no matter where you go in life or whatever choices you choose to make. I think I can speak on behalf of all Chasters when I say, we just want you to be happy :) in whatever it is you are doing. So keep dreaming big, keep following your heart and we will be here standing solid and true for you. An unshakable base to hold you up high wherever you may go. You have a wonderful mother and a strong and supportive brother and you will always have us Chasters here for you as well. Keep smiling, keep shining..

Livxamlis,

I'm always happy to hear of a new Chaster being born and for me, it is another person who may just very well be another person who shall make an impact on others in a good way. and from the way you sound in your blog, I would not doubt that you are one of them. I hope that passion grows as you continue to grow also as Charice's life blesses you too and you continue to discover the other good things you yourself have in you that shall benefit others some way or another. It is that willingness to share with others that light of all these good qualities of Charrice that we see that makes a difference in this hungry and distorted world today. Keep on the narrow path and remember always where all these come from through Charice. Charice is the vessel of this light and you know where this light comes from. Take care and be safe.
