So the first one I chose is, I Have Nothing, from her june 15th performance. As I watched this the first time, my mouth literally fell wide open. I had never agreed with the comments, and some of the vids, (including the ones Charice did referring to the issue) of where it was posted or said she was not pretty enough to be a star. In this vid I really defy anyone to tell me of a performance(not a pic) where she looked more beautiful, elegant, or lady like then this vid. I have really never cared for the puffy dresses that she sometimes wears.(though I do think she looks very pretty in them) They are just not my taste, and I'm not sure still who decides what she wears,but whoever decided on the dress in this vid. Kudos to them. The color suits her so very well, the dress fits lovely on her, and I think it adds a glow to her. The performance in itself, is full of certainty, confidence in it. You really get the sense she owns the stage. Wherein with most of her other performances before this one, I always felt there was always a childlike innocense, and a shyness to them. Like she was holding back to an extent. Her eyes in this performance, are full of life, and expression. They invite you to enjoy her on their own.
I sometimes think that people get wrapped up in her ability to hit high notes, and her runs(as they should, as I do to) that I think that her regular, soft, easy melodic natural tones of her voice gets lost. I could point to a few tunes where this part of her voice is prevalent.(One such example is the singing parts in her lil rap song)As much as I enjoy her high notes, and runs, for me this part of her voice is what I enjoy the most.
As I watched this performance the first time, I thought here was everything that is appealing about her coming together for the first time in one performance(minus her wonderful lil spontaneous dancing I love so much) as if watching her transform from the lil girl with the big voice, to the young lady who is a force to be reckon with.
Look out world, our lil one is coming, and I for one am excited!!!!
