Blog Entry: Charice at Arcotel Wimberger, Vienna ( 02-19-2010 ) ( This is the Original version of the softened & edited post on CM ) I’m glad and happy to hear that the concert in Vienna turned out well and I hope everybody shares Bing’s feelings and opinion that “no one regretted it and it was more than worth it”.(Praise the Lord) I have no intention of criticizing the organizers of the Vienna concert, nor do I wish to put them down in any way. I would have been a little more cautious though, if I were part of the management team that planned and executed this event. Definitely, you cannot go wrong and are assured of extremely high returns on whatever investment shall be shelled out to finance a concert or gig of Charice. She unquestionably has the extra ordinary talent and she has the charisma, wit and intelligence to entertain and maintain the audience’s attention and enthusiasm. She has the experience and confidence of seasoned professional entertainers to deal with and adlib when confronted by any unforeseen mishap during the show. She is able to hide or disguise any fear or anxiety and can prevent these from rattling and getting the better of her. But we should remember that Charice has come a long way now and people expect no less than a better performance or a better show than the last one. And these are very high expectations and standards which she herself and those top caliber producers like David Foster, Oprah and Ryan C. have established. Her name and reputation is a guaranty and assurance of excellent entertainment, nothing less than the best, which makes Charice a “pre-show sell out” and sure win ergo, definitely very “bankable”. The negative effects of an “OK” or “GOOD” concert changes the nature of this “guaranty” and “bankability” significantly. Future activities of Charice shall bear the brunt of having to make up for this loss in confidence or reduction in expectation or consumer satisfaction. This would not necessarily be due to Charice’s performance, but on the total presentation which is definitely affected by the other aspects of any show or concert. The momentum of her rise and journey to stardom shall likewise be affected. It would for any entertainer for that matter. People do not realize that the production quality of a show does not solely depend on the headliner’s ability and talent alone. There are major factors that weigh just as much and are equally as important in ensuring a successful concert and in the end, will assure people that whatever Charice will come up with, anything that bears her name, shall be great and not just “good” and will always be “more than worth whatever you will pay” and not just “ok”. Total audience satisfaction should be the ultimate goal for these endeavors in tandem with making a profit. If making a profit were the only goal, the future of Charice is not being considered properly and the activity shall do more harm than good to Charice’s career. It is a nasty reality that there are people who claim to be managers, promoters organizers for these things but are concerned only with the immediate returns on their investment on a short term basis. They do not concern themselves with the long term effects. They would go for the quick and easy, inexpensive way to make a buck. And sadly, Charice shall have to carry the burden by herself later on in the succeeding shows or concerts or albums, if and when those opportunities present themselves again. Technical glitches such as a unsatisfactory sound system; creative shortcomings such as a substandard stage presentation compared to previous events in the European area; theme and repertoire congruence and harmony; audience disposition and conditioning such as comfort and visibility; all these things and more have to be addressed and satisfied to come up with a great and better event than the last. Otherwise, the expectations and patronizing attitudes of the consumer base is stunted and slowed down. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out what follows next thereafter. Well, this was just a thought and I hope the event also materially benefitted Charice and her family more than the financers or organizers. This is my only concern. Thank you and please don’t think negatively of my intentions. But if you insist, I really don’t give a rat’s tail... haha. Peace! Jessica86s
